About the Job

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the post of Auditor in the Office of the Auditor General, Montserrat.




The Auditor will be responsible for performing specific duties assigned and assisting the Senior Auditor/Audit Manager with conducting audit exercises in line with the Annual Audit Operational Plan and in accordance with relevant auditing standards and guidelines. 




  • Perform audit exercises in accordance with assignment plans and organize work to achieve completion of audit task within the time frame allocated.


  • Maintain a daily record of work done to facilitate the continuity of the audit assignment.


  • Prepare working paper files for the assignment manager on the results of each audit assignment.

  • Keep abreast with developments in audit and finance principles, regulations and practices in the public and commercial sectors.


  • Organize work and outputs to achieve timely completion of each audit assignment and the Annual Audit Operational Plan.


  • Communicate at the appropriate time the results of audit work, including reports to designated supervisor on problems encountered in carrying out audit assignments, and recommendations for adjustments in the Audit Plan to secure achievable action.


  • Perform any other audit related work as may be assigned by the Senior Auditor, Audit Manager or Audit Management.




    The applicant must have:-


  • Two (2) A Levels to include Accounting, Business Studies, Economics or an Associate Degree in any other related discipline.




  • a Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Management or any other related discipline.




  • Completed the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT), Certificate in Public Sector Audit and Accounting (CIPFA) or ACCA Foundation Stage or any equivalent certificate.  





    Appointment will be made on a contractual basis for one year in the first instance.




    Salary (taxable) is in the scale R28 - 22 that is, $41,760 - $50,976 per annum.


    A gratuity (non-taxable) of 12.5% of basic salary will be paid on successful completion of contract.
