are invited from suitably qualified persons for the post of Personal Assistant, Primary Sector in
the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports. The successful applicant will be appointed before the
commencement of the upcoming academic in 2021/2022, that is, prior to September
01, 2021.
JOB PURPOSE:
To
provide personal assistance to a pupil whose physical and cognitive development
are delayed and who requires consistent personal help.
KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The
key responsibilities include:
- Assists the pupil with his
or her learning by providing help with assigned learning tasks
- Promptly assists the pupil
with meals and personal hygiene on an emergent basis;
- Assists the pupil to engage
as far as possible in the activities of the other pupils
- Assists the pupil to move
around the school yard and the playground when needed so that he/she can
have access to the activities of the other pupils
- Collects and records data
which will assist in the monitoring of pupil’s progress
- Support Integrated Student
Support Services program in collaboration with SEN Focal Points, Guidance
Counsellors and Educational Psychologist.
PERSONNEL
SPECIFICATION:
The
successful applicant should:

possess
at least three subjects at the General Proficiency level minimum grade – Grade
III
·
possess
basic word processing skills.
·
Possess
a clean Police Record
·
be able to communicate orally in a clear and
concise manner.
·
Possess
good people skills to allow meaningful interactions between management, staff
and students of the school.
·
Have
a caring attitude and personality
·
Demonstrate
personal qualities of understanding others, trust, empathy, maturity,
conscientiousness, integrity and initiative.
REMUNERATION:
Basic
salary is in the scale R38 –31, that is EC$28,596- EC$37,428 per annum.
